Łempicka breaks popularity records in Krakow. Crowds line up at the museum

Over 120,000 people have already visited Tamara Łempicka’s exhibition in Krakow, and this number will increase, because the last weekend of the exhibition is ahead of us and several thousand tickets purchased online can be used. To see the paintings of the legendary painter, you had to stand for up to four hours in the days leading up to the closing weekend. There was no shortage of volunteers. – “Łempicka” is one of the most popular exhibitions at the National Museum in Krakow, considering its length, so it is an absolute record – says Andrzej Szczerski, director of the National Museum in Krakow.

Tamara Łempicka was a sure bet, but even the museum did not expect such a turnout.

– We did not expect such interest, the more so that the Krakow exhibition is at the end of Łempicka’s journey around Poland last year, because there was also an exhibition at the National Museum in Lublin and the private gallery Villa le Fleur in Konstancin. It turned out that the Krakow exhibition is the most popular. We are delighted – says Prof. Andrzej Szczerski, director of the National Museum in Krakow.

On the weekend preceding the closing of the exhibition, the opening hours of the box office were also extended, tickets can be purchased (only for this exhibition) until 12:00 p.m. 18.00. However, for conservation reasons, a maximum of 60 people can view the exhibition at the same time.

– We do everything to ensure that the audience interested in seeing the exhibition can enter it – says Andrzej Szczerski, director of the National Museum in Krakow. – We have extended the opening hours, we will try to accommodate as many guests as possible. It is definitely worth trying to get there, the exhibition is unique, we will not see so many of Tamara Łempicka’s works in Poland in the near future.
