LEMBATA, KOMPAS.com – District government Lembata, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) noted that there were 68 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in the area, starting from January 1 to February 2, 2022.
The dengue cases were spread in eight of the nine sub-districts.
Acting Head of the Lembata District Health Office, Gabriel Bala Warat said, of the 68 cases, 57 of them have been confirmed to have dengue fever, while 11 other cases are in the suspect category.
He said the cases had spread to 21 cases in Wulandoni District, 19 cases in Ile Ape, 13 cases in Nubatuk, 11 cases in Lebatuk, two cases in Omesuri, and one case in Nagawutung and Atadei Districts.
“Patients are being treated at Lewoleba Hospital, two private hospitals and a puskesmas. But now many have recovered,” Gabriel said when contacted, Wednesday (2/2/2022).

Regarding these conditions, his party asked all residents, both in urban and rural areas to pay attention to the cleanliness of their homes and the surrounding environment, especially during the rainy season like today.
Not only that, his party asked the community that when a family has a fever or fever, they are immediately taken to the puskesmas or hospital.
“If you have a high fever or fever, don’t run to a shaman. Immediately go to a hospital or health center,” he said.

He added, there are various efforts to prevent dengue. Among them are eradicating mosquito nests, carrying out fogging, drain water reservoirs such as bathtubs at least every week and tightly seal water reservoirs.
“Fogging We have done it in Lewoleba (7 sub-districts) and several villages in Lembata that have dengue cases,” he added.
