Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Club operators understand the decision of the Baden-Württemberg state government that clubs and discos remain closed. There are good reasons against opening, said the spokesman for the Clubkultur interest group in Baden-Württemberg, Simon Waldenspuhl, on Wednesday at the German Press Agency in Stuttgart. The opening only makes sense anyway if the mask requirement and the capacity limits are overturned. After two years of the pandemic, the clubs need start-up financing. “Further economic aid is essential for future opening.”
Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) had previously announced that clubs and discotheques would remain closed because of the Omicron variant even in the normal alarm level. Actually, the 2G rule would have applied if the normal alert level had returned. The vaccinated and Genesis would then have been allowed to visit clubs and discos.
The Administrative Court in Mannheim had classified the freezing of alarm level II by the state government’s Corona Ordinance as probably illegal. The green-black state government is therefore planning to reintroduce the regular tier system. With the new Corona regulation, which according to Kretschmann should come into force on Friday, the government is now tightening the rules in the normal alarm level.
According to the club culture interest group, it represents venues, club operators, festivals and event organizers in the southwest.
