That didn’t work because the team wasn’t ready to follow the match plans and convictions 100 percent, ”said club boss Oliver Mintzlaff at Sport1. Mintzlaff was not interested in the fact that Marsch was still in the corona quarantine in his Leipzig apartment at 1: 2 at Union Berlin on Friday and only had virtual contact with the team. “It doesn’t matter to me whether someone is sick or whether the communication wasn’t ideal. We should have won today, that was the clear mandate, ”said the 46-year-old on ARD.
Speculation about successors
Mintzlaff is currently assuming “that we can present the new head coach for the second half of the season”. The speculation about Marsch’s successor had already started on Saturday, when the 48-year-old officially still had his job. Domenico Tedesco should be in the favorite position. The 36-year-old is available and smart enough for the image that RB is selling. Lucien Favre may have outsider chances, a Salzburg solution with Matthias Jaissle, who only started in the summer, is unlikely to be an option. Candidates such as Roger Schmidt (Eindhoven), Erik ten Hag (Ajax), Bo Svensson (Mainz) and Robert Klauß (Nuremberg) are bound and for various reasons are hardly an option.
The pressure is now mainly on Mintzlaff. The ex-track and field athlete has to repair the sporting fiasco with march, in which he himself played a large part. Separation comes late
