The Times reported (Tuesday) after the host English champions were unavailable several other options for the game on March 10th.
The stadiums of Feyenoord Rotterdam and Udinese Calcio are also said to have been requested. The first meeting was held in Budapest at the end of February, Liverpool won 2-0.
It has long been clear that the second leg will be moved to the Hungarian capital. The European Football Union (UEFA) had asked Liverpool for a second relocation before the first leg, as Leipzig would face a two-week quarantine after returning from England due to the corona restrictions in Germany. Only a change of opinion by the health authorities would enable Leipzig to travel to Liverpool, but this is not foreseeable.
