Leipzig – For his new role as Moritz Brenner in the SOKO Leipzig moved the actor and father of three Johannes Hendrik Langer (36) in August 2020 with kith and kin from Berlin Leipzig. After a year and a half: where do you like it better, Commissioner?

“Of course, saying goodbye to Berlin was difficult, because things like that don’t happen that often in Germany,” says Langer.
“But Leipzig is very close to that. The city has so many things in common, which I find super attractive. This incredible history and culture with old buildings, you have a beautiful city center, which you don’t have in Berlin, for example. Everything is there torn apart”, he describes the advantages of the Saxon trade fair city.
“Meanwhile I’ve also found a bit of the neighborhood here. That’s really exciting.”

Above all, however, he appreciates the spaciousness of the city. “In Berlin we lived in Friedrichshain. Our neighborhood was pretty full,” he says. “And it’s not so easy to leave the neighborhood with three children. That always involved a lot of effort,” he recalls.
Quite different in Leipzig: “Driving alone to Lake Cospuden, going to the wildlife park or zoo, I always drive through Rosenthal on my way to school. Berlin simply can’t keep up with that. Berlin doesn’t have the space. It’s definitely for the family Fall is a great asset,” he enthuses.

Sounds like a clear victory for Leipzig – which is after all also referred to as the new Berlin.
