Leipzig / Halle Airport: Freight handling continues to increase

As Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG announced on Tuesday, almost 134,000 tons of freight were handled in July – an increase of 9.1 percent compared to the same month last year.

The airport is Germany’s second largest cargo airport behind Frankfurt / Main and fourth in Europe.

In the first seven months of this year, the volume increased by 18.9 percent to around 899,682 tons compared to the same period in the previous year.

Im Corona-Year 2020 Leipzig / Halle achieved a record result with 1.38 million tons of freight.
