Vice champion RB Leipzig is visiting SC Freiburg. Against the sports club, coach Jesse Marsch expects a significant increase in performance. “We need the best performance of the season,” he says.
Head coach Jesse Marsch from runner-up RB Leipzig demands a significant increase in performance from his team against the still unbeaten SC Freiburg. “On Saturday is a very important game for us, the respect for Freiburg is very, very high. We need this victory and we need the best performance of the season,” said Marsch.
Although the club had to turn off a dozen national players during the international break and therefore hardly any training was possible before the Bundesliga game on this Saturday (3.30 p.m. / Sky) in Breisgau, Marsch sees no disadvantage in this. “I think it’s more than an advantage that we have so many players in the national teams, because that means we have a lot of quality in the team,” emphasized the American.
Of the ten Bundesliga duels against Freiburg, RB won six, most recently in March 3-0 in the foreign stadium. “The team has not only played well this season, they are clear, a good group and always dangerous when it comes to standards,” said Marsch about the third place in the table. He was particularly impressed by his colleague Christian Streich: “Streich is a great trainer, I also like his PK’s.”
