Leipzig Central Station partially closed over Easter

In the period from Saturday, 16.04. (5:30 p.m.), until Easter Sunday, 17.04. (6 a.m.), no long-distance trains stop in Leipzig. Alternatively, the trains stop in Halle (Saale).

The trains of the Intercity-Express line Wiesbaden – Dresden and the Intercity lines Cologne – Dresden as well as Emden – Leipzig run with a travel time extension of around 50 minutes through a detour via Lutherstadt Wittenberg – Bitterfeld – Halle/Saale. ICE line trains stop at all three stops, IC line 55 trains in Wittenberg. Individual trains already end in Halle/Saale.

On April 16 and 17: Coming from the south, trains on the ICE lines Hamburg – Berlin – Halle/Leipzig – Munich reach all stops north of Leipzig/Bitterfeld 60 minutes later. In the opposite direction, the trains leave Hamburg Altona 60 minutes earlier in order to reach the stops from Bitterfeld/Leipzig on time.

The Sprinter trains on the Hamburg – Berlin – Erfurt – Munich ICE route are no longer used between Berlin and Munich. Trains on the Berlin-Halle-Erfurt-Frankfurt ICE route are no longer required.
