Leipzig Central Station is partially closed at Easter

long distance
In the period from Saturday 16.04. (17:30), until Easter Sunday, 17.04. (6:00), no long-distance trains stop in Leipzig. Alternatively, the trains stop in Halle (Saale).

The trains of the Intercity-Express line Wiesbaden – Dresden and the Intercity lines Cologne – Dresden as well as Emden – Leipzig travel with an extension of the journey time by approx. 50 minutes via a detour via Lutherstadt Wittenberg – Bitterfeld – Halle/Saale. Trains of the ICE line stop at all three stops, trains of the IC line 55 in Wittenberg. The individual trains already terminate in Halle/Saale.

On 16 and 17 April: Coming from the south, trains on the ICE lines Hamburg – Berlin – Halle/Leipzig – Munich reach all stops north of Leipzig/Bitterfeld 60 minutes later. In the other direction, trains leave Hamburg Altona 60 minutes earlier to reach the stops from Bitterfeld/Leipzig on time.

Sprinter trains on the ICE route Hamburg – Berlin – Erfurt – Munich are no longer used between Berlin and Munich. Trains on the ICE route Berlin-Halle-Erfurt-Frankfurt are no longer needed.
