Leipzig: Central Station in 3rd place in Europe – Leipzig

Leipzig – What about comfort and user-friendliness at the 50 largest train stations in Europe? The consumer organization “Consumer Choice Center” investigated this question and has now published the first “European Railway Station Index”.

Leipzig Central Station came third – behind St. Pancras Station in London and Zurich Main Station and followed by Rome, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Milan and Frankfurt.

According to Fred Roeder of the Consumer Choice Center, there were points for many direct connections, wheelchair friendliness, shopping opportunities and restaurants in the station. Furthermore, there were below-average numbers of strike days and a good connection to ridesharing offers.

Roeder: “We hope that this ranking will also help train stations to understand where there is still room for improvement.”
