Leipzig and Bayern Munich move to the top of the Bundesliga

Munich. Leipzig won at Mainz (2-0) this Saturday and shares the top of the tournament with Bayern Munich, who beat Stuttgart 4-0.

With seven games played in the German championship, Marco Rose’s men have 17 points.

In another high-profile clash this Saturday, Bayer Leverkusen, current champion, defeated Eintracht in Frankfurt (2-1) in a colorful duel for the neutral spectator.

After having bitten the dust at the beginning of the season against Leipzig, Xabi Alonso’s men also had a short streak of two draws in a row (against Bayern and the modest Kiel at home), but this victory allows them to stay in the head with 14 points.

And with their comfortable victory at Augsburg (3-1), Freiburg (2nd) also confirmed their good start to the season with a fifth victory and 15 points that allow the Black Forest club to rise to second place, two behind Leipzig.

Hary Kane’s hat trick in Bayern’s 4-0 win over Stuttgart

Harry Kane ended his brief goal drought with a hat-trick in Bayern Munich’s 4-0 thrashing of Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

“As a forward it sometimes says a lot when you go a period without scoring,” Kane said. “That’s part of being a striker. You can’t be too high or too low. I believe in my abilities and myself. “I believe in my teammates who create opportunities.”

Kane, who had not scored in four games – three with Bayern and one with England – missed several solid chances before finally ending his drought with a shot close to goal in the 57th.

Kane had his second goal four minutes later – after goalkeeper Alexander Nübel deflected another shot – and then missed a chance before sealing his hat-trick in the 80th minute with a rebound after João Palhinha’s attempt.

Palhinha came on after Aleksandar Pavlovic left with an apparent shoulder injury. This was only the Portuguese’s fifth appearance in the Bundesliga, all but one having been as a substitute.

With his three goals, Kane brought his total to eight for the campaign. Omar Marmoush, from Eintracht Frankfurt, is the leading scorer with nine.

“Today there are three goals, but the most important thing is that it helped us not concede,” warned Bayern coach Vincent Kompany.

Substitute Kinglsey Coman scored Bayern’s fourth goal.
