On yesterday, February 27th, 2021, four vehicle drivers had to give some of their blood at traffic controls, as all of them were suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Rapid test confirms statement
Officials of the Günzburg autobahn police carried out a traffic control at the Leipheim rest area on Saturday, at lunchtime, for a 61-year-old driver of a pickup truck who had previously driven on autobahn 8 towards Munich. Since the driver stated that he consumed marijuana at irregular intervals, a rapid drug test was carried out on site, which confirmed the consumption. The journey ended for the 61-year-old and a blood sample was taken from him. In addition to a driving ban, he is now also faced with a heavy fine.
Drunk and Cars and another problem
In the afternoon, a patrol crew from the Günzburg police station checked a 56-year-old driver in the Schlachthausstrasse area in Günzburg. In the course of the control, the suspicion arose that he was heavily intoxicated. A blood sample was therefore taken from him. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the road user on suspicion of being drunk in traffic. In addition, it turned out that the vehicle had a foreign registration, although the driver had been living in Germany for a long time. Because of this, criminal proceedings were initiated against him on suspicion of violating the vehicle tax regulations.
Drug test responds to amphetamines
On Saturday night, a 20-year-old drove his car on the A8 in the direction of Stuttgart and was stopped at the Günzburg junction for traffic control. Drug-typical abnormalities were found in the vehicle driver. A drug test was then carried out on site, which confirmed the consumption of amphetamines. The driver attributed this to the consumption of numerous energy drinks, which, however, did not save him from taking a blood sample and reporting a fine.
Drivers without lights
During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a patrol from the Günzburg police station noticed a car in the Augsburger Strasse area that was driving without lights. In the course of the subsequent traffic control, the 25-year-old car driver was also clearly showing signs of alcohol-related failure. Because of this, a blood sample was taken from him. Criminal proceedings were initiated against him on suspicion of being drunk in traffic.
