LIVERPOOL – Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright predicts Leicester City will add to the pain of Liverpool, which is currently being hit by a center-back crisis. He feels that Brendan Rodger’s squad – the former Liverpool coach – will beat Jurgen Klopp’s squad when the two teams bring down each other in the 2020-2021 Premier League.
Liverpool will host when they face Leicester at Anfield on Monday, November 23, 2020, WIB. It’s just that, the back line The Reds– the nickname Liverpool in a fragile state.
Liverpool are short on a central defender after Virgin van Dijk was seriously injured after being tackled two feet by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. As a result, Van Dijk sustained a knee ligament injury and had to be sidelined for at least nine months or until the end of the season.

Liverpool also lost Fabinho, who suffered a hamstring injury. The Brazilian midfielder was Van Dijk’s coating before stepping aside.
Klopp also lost to Joe Gomez. The 23-year-old player injured his knee while following training with the England national team and is certain to miss all Premier League matches 2020-2021.
Most recently, Liverpool lost their burning young defender, Rhys Williams. The 19-year-old defender suffered a week’s injury while defending the England U-21 national team.
With such a situation, Liverpool only has Joel Matip. He is the only senior center-back still fit after recovering from an ankle injury.
Wright also believes that the void at center-back will be put to good use by The Foxes – Leicester’s nickname. He feels the actor who will add pain to Liverpool is Jamie Vardy.
“This is a real test for Liverpool because they lost a number of center-backs. They haven’t played any of their four defenders,” Wright said in the podcast ‘Wrighty’s House Ringer FC quoted Metro, Thursday (19/11/2020).
“But what I like about Liverpool is they don’t want to buy anyone in January and they don’t panic. We know Mohamed Salah is not playing (due to coronavirus), but Diogo Jota is there.”
“If they can beat this Leicester team, which in my opinion will be very difficult because they have Vardy who scored against the top teams.”
“However, if Liverpool can pass this test, and Jota is doing well, you have to say that they are elite, mentally and physically,” he concluded.
