The German company focusing on the production of cameras and lenses Leica has been associated with Huawei smartphones for many years. It was the hallmark of the German company that helped Chinese telephones to significantly improve their photographic properties, thanks to which they gained popularity with the general public.
With Huawei P50 smartphones, however the great partnership ends. Practically immediately, however, the company from Wetzlar started cooperating with the Japanese Sharp, to whom it began to help with the optics of his Aquos R6 phone. However, this is not enough for Leice, so it immediately embarks on the production of its own smartphones.
The first name will be called Leitz Phone 1 and at least according to the specifications it is not very different from the smartphone Sharp Aquos R6. Leitz Phone 1 has a 6.6 ″ OLED display, Qualcomm processor Snapdragon 888, 12 GB RAM, 256 GB internal memory, 5000mAh batteries and a camera with a 1 ″ sensor with a resolution of 20 Mpx. It is even protected by a special magnetic cap.
If you have already started saving money on Leica Leitz Phone 1, I must disappoint you. The original with the Leica brand on the back is currently sold only in Japan, and it is not very likely that it will look outside the Earth of the rising sun. The price is also not very pleasing – Leica will call an astronomical 187,920 yen for its phone (approx. 35,900 crowns).
