In full swing of APS-C cameras, it seems that Leica has decided -once again- to go against the market. And it is that the company has discontinued its TL models with APS-C sensor, as well as the most recent Leica CL.
Despite the initial enthusiasm caused by this camera that some described as an accessible Leica M, the truth is that these models with APS-C sensor and L bayonet have always gone somewhat unnoticed in the company’s catalog.
The modern design of the Leica T did not seem too convincing and it seems that the commitment to the classic lines of the CL has not caught on either. It must be remembered that, in this case, we are talking about mirrorless cameras, with autofocus and with the aforementioned L bayonet, shared by the full-format SL range and compatible with Panasonic and Sigma lenses.
Although the cameras are still listed on the official Leica website and can still be found in some stores, Leica Rumors He already published months ago that the production of these models was ceased. A fact that Photolari has been able to confirm recently.
