Legislator launches art contest | Forward Valley

SAN DIEGO – Congressman Juan Vargas, Democrat for District 51, who covers the Imperial Valley announced the launch of his art contest within this same district.

The federal legislator recalled that, like every spring, the Congress Institute sponsors a national high school visual arts competition.

Since the competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.

“I am pleased to host the California 51st Congressional Art Contest to recognize and nurture artistic talent in our community,” said the Congressman.

The competition is open to high school students living in California’s 51st district.

The contest guidelines are available on the website of Congressman Juan Vargas.

This year’s theme is “The Way Forward” and the deadline for submitting artwork is April 26, 2021.

Entries must be up to 26 inches by 26 inches and four inches deep. The works must be framed and two-dimensional.
