The NUPES, New popular ecological and social unionpresent 18 candidates in the legislative elections June 12 and 19, 2022 in Paris.
In total, the NUPES has invested candidates in all the districts: two will represent the PS, ten will wear the colors of La France Insoumise (LFI), one PCF candidate, and five EELV candidates. Find out which candidates are invested in the constituencies of the capital.
The outgoing MP is running for re-election
- Danièle Obono17th constituency (part of 18e arrondissement – Goutte-d’Or and Chapelle districts – and part of 19e district not included in the 16th constituency), LFI: 41 years old, librarian, Member of Parliament since 2017.
Who are the other NUPES party candidates?
- Thomas Luquet, 1st district (1st, 2nd and 8th arrondissements and part of the 9th – Chaussée-d’Antin, Faubourg-Montmartre and Saint-Georges districts, part of the Rochechouart district located south of a line defined by rue Condorcet and rue de Maubeuge) , LFI: consultant since 2016.
- Marine Rosset2nd district (part of the 6th arrondissement – Monnaie, Odéon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés district -, part of the 7th – Gros-Caillou, Invalides and Saint-Thomas-d’Aquin districts), PS: 36 years old, professor of geography history in Seine-Saint-Denis then departmental councilor in Seine-Saint-Denis.
- Léa Balage El Mariky3rd constituency (part of 17e arrondissement – Batignolles and Epinette districts – part of 18e – part of the Grandes-Carrières district located to the west and north of the avenue de la porte de Montmartre, boulevard Ney, rue du Ruisseau, rue Mercadet), EELV: 32 years old, deputy mayor of Paris in the 18th borough, consultant.
- Natalie Depraz4th district (part of the 16th arrondissement – Chaillot district and part of the Porte Dauphine district located north of rue de la Pompe, place Monnet and rue Saint-Didier – part of the 17th not included in the 3rd district), LFI: 57 years, professor of philosophy.
- Julien Bayou, 5th district (3rd and 10th arrondissements), EELV, : 41 years old, regional councilor for Île-de-France since 2010 and national secretary of the Europe Écologie Les Verts party since 2019.
- Sophia Chikirou6th constituency (part of 11e – part of the Folies-Méricourt, Saint-Ambroise, Roquette and Sainte-Marguerite districts -, part of 20e – part of the Belleville and Père-Lachaise districts), LFI: 42 years old, member of the Île-de-France regional council since 2021, communication advisor and French politician, former socialist activist, she joins Jean-Marie Bockel and declares not to adhere to the presidential program of Nicolas Sarkozy in 2007.
- Caroline Mécary7th district (4th arrondissement, part of the 11th not included in the 6th district, part of the 12th – Quinze-Vingt district), LFI: 59 years old, lawyer at the bars of Paris and Quebec, former member of the Council of the Order.
- Eva Sas8th district (part of the 12th not included in the 7th district, part of the 20th – part of the Charonne district), EELV: 51 years old, MP since 2017, former municipal councilor of Savigny-sur-Orge, economic expert.
- Sandrine Rousseau9th district (part of the 13th arrondissement – Salpêtrière, Gare, Croulebarbe districts), EELV: 50 years old, university economist, writer, former regional councilor for Nord-Pas-de-Calais, former EELV national spokesperson.
- rodrigo arenas, 10th district (part of the 13th – Maison-Blanche district -, part of the 14th – part of the park districts of Montsouris, Petit-Montrouge and Plaisance), LFI: 48 years old, French association leader, former co-president of the Federation of Parents’ Councils, the first parents’ federation from 2018 to July 2021.
- Olivia of Poland11th district (part of the 6th arrondissement not included in the 2nd district, part of the 14th not included in the 10th district), PS: 47 years old, Deputy Mayor of Paris since 2014, Councilor of Paris since 2008.
- Celine Malaise12th district (part of the 7th arrondissement – École-militaire district -, part of the 15th – Necker and Grenelle districts and part of the Saint-Lambert district), PCF: 53 years old, regional councilor for Ile-de-France, president of the Left communist and ecologist and citizen group.
- Aminata Niakate13th constituency (part of 15e district not included in the 12th district), EELV: 42 years old, councilor of Paris since 2020, vice president of the Ecologist group of Paris, lawyer.
- Julie Maury14th district (part of the 16th arrondissement – Auteuil and La Muette district and part of the Porte Dauphine district not included in the 4th district), LFI: political communicator, graduate of a school of journalism, author.
- Danielle Simonnet15th constituency (part of 20e district not included in the 6th and 8th constituencies), LFI: 50 years old, French politician, member of the Left Party and of La France insoumise, she is coordinator of the PG with Éric Coquerel from 2015 to 2021, councilor of Paris since 2008 and councilor of the 20e district of Paris.
An application without Nupes agreement
The 15th constituency remains subject to caution: despite the official investiture of Danielle Simonnet by the LFI activists, Lamia El Aaraje (PS) has declared herself a candidate outside the Nupes agreement.
