Legislative horizons 2022: the right-wing family divided in Chartres, on the way to a peace of the brave in Dreux

It’s no mystery, in the district of Dreuxthe departmental boss of LR and outgoing deputy, Olivier Marleix, is running for a third term.

“With great modesty because no one owns the votes of voters,” he says. He takes great care to point out that “Emmanuel Macron comes first in the second round in the constituency of Dreux”.

A small tackle to his opponent Aleksandar Nikolic who looks with satisfaction at the scores of the RN in the villages of Drouais. Olivier Marleix is counting on his local roots to counter the RN on his right and an LREM candidacy that he will not hesitate to fight, thus keeping his line decidedly “Macron incompatible”.

He has probably been breathing a little better since Monday, after a lunch with the mayor of Dreux. Pierre-Frédéric Billet may be LR, his support for the outgoing deputy was not obvious. Finally, the decision is made:

“I will support the outgoing deputy out of loyalty to my political family and for the results of his parliamentary work at the national level. But this support is the subject of debate in my municipal team. »

In the third constituency (Nogent-le-Rotrou / Lucé), it was more recently that LR invested the mayor of Lèves, Rémi Martial. A constituency which is rather favorable to him in view of the last three ballots which were won by Laure de La Raudière, under the LR label. She has, in the meantime, joined the ranks of Agir. In January 2021, she took over the presidency of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications, Posts and Press Distribution (Arcep). Her deputy, Luc Lamirault (Agir Ensemble), replaced her in the Assembly.

In the 4th constituency (Châteaudun), Élisabeth Meyblum (LR) wants to be “an alternative” to the outgoing, Philippe Vigier. The Dunoise radiologist, municipal councilor in Châteaudun and regional councilor, believes that her “project is legitimate”, despite the (heavy) defeat of Valérie Pécresse. “The legislative election is more about the person. »

After a campaign with the elected representatives of the territory, she is attacking her field campaign and will present her deputy tomorrow. She already has the support of the mayor of Jallans, Olivier Lecomte:

“After three terms (of Philippe Vigier), we need to renew the local political class. Elisabeth Meyblum has an approach to the territory that I like. »

In the district of Chartres, the right risks leaving divided (see our edition of April 7). Ladislas Vergne (LR) is a candidate. He claims the LR nomination, which he still displays on his campaign documents. On April 6, a member of the party’s national leadership team said: “The national council validated that there was no LR candidacy as it stood (in the Chartres constituency). The nomination has not been given and is therefore not yet awarded. A future investiture committee will study the subject. »

For her part, Karine Dorange (LR) announced her candidacy on February 23, with Thomas Laforge (LR), the mayor of Maintenon, as her deputy. “I am a candidate in the legislative elections, with or without the Les Républicains nomination”, she decided, in L’Écho of March 24.

Contacted, Olivier Marleix no longer “wants to talk about this subject” and prefers to discuss the issues in the other three Eurelian constituencies.
