In the Tarn-et-Garonne, the outgoing deputy and ex-minister Sylvia Pinel (PRG) is eliminated in the first round. The 2nd constituency is the only one in Midi-Pyrénées where the RN comes first. In the 1st constituency, outgoing MP Valérie Rabault (PS) dominates.
Political earthquake in the Tarn-et-Garonne, the outgoing deputy and former minister Sylvia Pinel (Radical Left Party) is eliminated in the first round. The only case in Midi-Pyrénées, the candidate of the National Rally, Marine Hamelet is in the lead in this 2nd constituency. In the 1st constituency, MP Valérie Rabault (PS) is in the lead. The department is therefore no longer committed to the left.
Outgoing MP Valérie Rabault is in the lead after this first round. The PS candidate benefits from an agreement with NUPES. She won 33.33% of the votes cast. In the second round, Valérie Rabault will face the RN candidate Pierre Poma who obtained 22.44% of the vote.
This is the surprise of this ballot in Midi-Pyrénées. The outgoing deputy and former minister, Sylvia Pinel (Radical Left Party) was eliminated in the first round. Arriving in third position, she collected only 20.19% of the vote in the 2nd constituency of Tarn-et-Garonne. Sylvia Pinel, however, was aiming for a 4th term with the support of the Socialist Party. The left loses a constituency where it had dominated for 60 years (with the exception of two brackets on the right between 1993-1997 and 2002-2007).
In this constituency which covers Moissac, Castelsarrasin, Valence d’Agen and Montech, it is the candidate of the National Rally, Marine Hamelet who comes first with 31% of the vote.
