Ubisoft has confirmed that it will soon release a patch of Watch Dogs: Legion through which it will remove from its open world i podcast of the controversial journalist Helen Lewis. In fact, a fuss has arisen around the figure of Lewis in recent days due to inappropriate comments he had made on gender identity.
The controversy had erupted on Twitter and on the forum of ResetEra because of some transphobic comments that the reporter had done.
For this reason, Ubisoft has made it known that it will immediately proceed to delete the two podcasts of Lewis contained in the game. In these interventions Lewis spoke of fascist threat in the world of Watch Dogs: Legion.
“They informed us of controversial remarks from a reporter whose dubbing performance appears in two podcasts in Watch Dogs: Legion“said a spokesman.”Neither Ubisoft nor the game reflect the point of view of this journalist.”
He added: “The development team worked with an outside producer to select speaker profiles for these podcasts and it wasn’t a knowledge controversy when booking or registering.”
Finally confirmed that the two podcasts will be replaced in the next update and said controls will be strengthened to select external partners.
