Yesterday afternoon, Syrian drama and the artistic cultural community bid farewell to the distinguished artist Thanaa Dibsi, who is considered one of the creative Syrian artists who have engraved their names in the memory of generations with her calm and sober personality and distinctive talent.
She has a rich artistic career with dozens of theatrical, cinematic and television works, which spanned more than half a century.
The funeral of the late artist Thanaa Debsi was carried out from the Medical Surgical Hospital on Baghdad Street, where prayers were performed over her body at the Lalabasha Mosque to be buried in the Great Horsh Cemetery in Al-Muhajireen in Damascus.
The distinguished artist Dibsi, who began her acting journey in her city of Aleppo, was one of the first actors who contributed to the launch of the National Theater in Syria, as the head of the Artists Syndicate, Mohsen Ghazi, indicated in a statement to SANA that the late artist was one of the pillars and pillars of Syrian theater and drama and one of the pioneers of the founding generation of drama, in addition to She had an exceptional personality and talent.
Musical artist Hadi Baqdunis, deputy head of the Artists Syndicate, expressed his great sadness at the loss of a new artistic figure, adding to the series of great losses that Syrian drama has suffered during its recent years, pointing out that she has an artistic career filled with dozens of theatrical, dramatic, cinematic and radio works.
“She was a compassionate person, a noble friend, and a great mother,” is how her companion and sister, the artist Tharaa Debsi, described her, recalling her humanitarian virtues in her dealings with everyone who knew her and worked with her, describing her passing as a loss for drama and for the family.
“She is a professor of acting, love, giving, and loyalty.” With these words, the artist Nadine Khoury mourned the late great artist who stood with her at the beginning of her artistic career and gave her advice, especially since she was a mistress of theater and one of the creators of Syrian drama, pointing out that there were many radio works that brought them together, so she was a real mother to her and her passing is a painful loss for everyone. .
As for the artist Sulaf Fawakherji, she said that the distinguished artist Thanaa Debsi was an exceptional and unparalleled person in terms of love, giving and humility, as she respected her work and became a role model for all generations, adding: We grieve greatly over the loss of those we love, not only in drama but also in life, but the creative and generous person leaves. In person, his works remain in the memory of generations.
The passing of the artist Thanaa Debsi was like the passing of the second mother of the artist Firas Ibrahim, as he was a family friend. He spoke about the depth of the human relationship that brought him together with this family, describing it as a “very special” person with a great culture, an exceptional memory, and a strong and compassionate personality. Her passing is an irreparable loss.
The artist, Radwan Aqili, described her as a dear friend to his heart and a special person, indicating that she was able to prove her presence in the era of giants and spread her love in the souls of everyone who knew her and worked with her.
