Swede Claes Lestander has died at the age of 91. He is the first member of the so-called Zero Club, which includes biathletes who have won Olympic or World Championship gold in individual races without a miss.

Swede Klas Lestander, the first Olympic champion in biathlon, has died at the age of 91. About this Sportbladet informed his son Dan.
According to Lestander Jr., his father died at his home in Arjeplog of natural causes.
Lestander won gold in the individual race at the 1960 Olympics in Squaw Valley, becoming the first-ever Olympic champion in biathlon. Until 2010, he remained the only Swede to win gold in biathlon at the Men’s Games.
Also on account of Lestander bronze in the relay at the 1961 World Championships.
Lestander became the first member of the so-called Zero Club, which includes biathletes and female biathletes who won gold in the Olympic Games or World Championships in individual races without a miss.
