“Legendary Singing Contest”: Hearthstone’s Latest Expansion Celebrates Azeroth’s Music Festival with 145 New Cards and Game Rules

Blizzard Entertainment’s TCG Hearthstone’s latest expansion pack ‘Legendary Singing Contest’ was released on the 12th. With the theme of Azeroth’s largest music festival, this expansion pack introduces a variety of new cards focused on legendary musicians in the world.

A total of 145 cards are included in ‘Legendary Singing Contest’. For every class, star musicians corresponding to various genres of music appear as legendary minions, and their representative songs appear as legendary spells. In addition, for each class, ‘instrument’ comes as a weapon, and some of these added cards show a stronger death echo effect during play.

‘Harmonious Order’, ‘Solo Minion’, and ‘Finale’ are new game rules added in the Legend Singing Contest expansion pack. ‘Harmonious Spell’ is a variable that needs to calculate the optimal battle timing through the frequency that changes every turn you hold a hand in hand.

In addition, ‘Solo Minion’ is a single specialized minion that shows a special battle cry effect when it appears as the only minion on the player’s side.

‘Finale’ is a rather unique new keyword, and it is a card that allows you to finish your turn rhythmically by providing various additional effects when you draw a card and consume all mana crystals at the same time.

Apart from this, in ‘Legendary Singing Contest’, the ‘Overheal’ keyword is added to the minion card of the priest job. A minion card with the Overhealing keyword raises the Priest character’s combat power to a higher level by generating various special effects when casting healing that exceeds the maximum health.

‘Legendary Song Contest’ is the first expansion pack that appears in ‘Year of the Wolf’ according to the Hearthstone calendar, and a new core set update is applied together. The new core set includes the main cards of ‘Stormwind’ and ‘Alterac Valley’, and the ‘exchangeability’ keyword is incorporated as an always-applied keyword. In addition, various combination cards that are limited to ‘Year of the Wolf’ also appear. More information on this can be found in the official blog post.
