Real Madrid’s official website has announced that former striker Amancio has died today.
The Spaniard passed away at the age of 83. He played for the Madrid team from 1962 to 1976 and played 344 matches in the Spanish championship. From 1984 to 1985 he led the team as head coach.
As part of Real Madrid, Amancio, who had the nickname “Sorcerer” among the fans, became the champion of Spain 9 times, won the European Cup and excelled in the Spanish Cup three times. Since October 2022, Amancio has served as honorary president of Real Madrid.
