Legendary Music Producer Jerry Moss Dies at Age 88: Remembering His Impact on Artists like Cat Stevens, Janet Jackson, and Falco

He helped artists like Cat Stevens, Janet Jackson and Falco achieve their breakthrough. Music producer Jerry Moss has died at the age of 88.

In the 1960s, he founded the legendary record label “A&M Records” in Hollywood together with trumpeter Herb Alpert and a starting capital of just 200 dollars. Soon after, they signed artists like Cat Stevens, the Carpenters, Joe Cocker, Carole King and Supertramp.

Now is US music producer Jerry Moss died at the age of 88. He died peacefully at his home in Bel Air, California, his family said, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Moss later worked with the Sex Pistols, Janet Jackson, Bryan Adams, The Police and Falco. In 1989, he and Alpert sold the label to the Polygram group for nearly $500 million. In 1999 he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and in 2006 he was inducted into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”.
