Actress and singer Anita Thallaug has died. It is confirmed by the grandson Rasmus, better known as artist Rasmus Thall.
– The worst thing I hear people say
She was 84 years old.
As a seven-year-old, Thallaug made his debut as an actor in a children’s revue by Leif Juster. She later played in a number of films, and was, among other things, the voice of Alice in the first Norwegian version of “Alice in Wonderland”.
She also made history as the first Norwegian woman to appear naked on film, in the film “Blondine i Fare”.
Thallaug took part in Melodi Grand Prix a total of seven times. In 1963, she represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Solhverv”. It ended with Norway’s first last place in Eurovision.
Earlier this year, the grandson also participated in MGP, with the song “Tresko”. For Rasmus, it is important to honor his grandmother.
– It is important for me to honor her life and she has been the reason why I do music. She has been loved and had a heart full of love. Everyone in the family is very sorry for us, but it was natural and she has had a long and contented life and done a lot in the entertainment industry, he tells Dagbladet.
– I will remember as a bubbly and energetic person, and as my mommo. There was always lots of singing around her and she used to tell stories from the time she worked with Leif Juster and Arve Opsahl at Chat Noir.
