Legendary German opera singer Christa Ludwig (93) is silent forever

Christa Ludwig has starred in many leading roles, often in operas by Richard Wagner or Richard Strauss, but also in Bizet’s “Carmen” or Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro”. She sang with Maria Callas in Bellini’s “Norma” and with conductors such as Herbert von Karajan. Ludwig was also a refined interpreter of songs by Mahler, Schumann or Schubert.
