The Chilean-Venezuelan actress Inelia Concepción Obach de Ceppi, better known as Conchita Obach, died yesterday, at 85, in Caracas.
The news was known on social networks, where friends gave a last goodbye to who, for years, was in charge of the Foundation of Artists for Life.
Actor Luis Olavarrieta recalled the actress’s love for Venezuela.
“Conchita Obach left us. A Chilean who loved this country as if it were her own. Solidarity like few others. He presided over the Artists for Life foundation. An unrepeatable woman. Thanks a lot. Peace to his soul ”, he expressed.
For her part, the journalist Marlene Castillo evoked her quality as a human being.
“Very sad the news of the departure of the much loved Conchita Obach. GREAT actress, but better human being. Peace to your soul RIP ”.
Soap opera legend
Conchita Obach is recognized for her role in the telenovela El Derecho de Nacer, in which she starred alongside the first actor and leading man, Raúl Amundaray.
Considered the first great success in the history of the Venezuelan telenovela, El Derecho de Nacer, it was the first daily broadcast to have hour-long chapters.
The story, in which Obach played Isabel Cristina Castillo del Junco, obtained the record for the Venezuelan telenovela with the longest transmission (2 years, 2 months, 8 days and 2 hours), until the appearance of By these streets.
Another well-known facet of Obach was that of a model. Born in Colimbo, Chile, in 1956 she was crowned Miss Chile and participated in that year’s Miss Universe in California, United States, where she was not a finalist.
However, she later represented her home country in the United States, and with her immense sympathy she managed to win the Miss Latin America band.
At the end of the 1950s, she moved to our country, where she established herself as an actress, also starring in the novel El delusion in 1968.
In 1987, Obach appeared in Román Chalbaud’s film, The Black Sheep. His participation in Ifigenia is also remembered.
Conchita Obach’s funeral will be held today, at the Eastern Cemetery, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
