This spring, the legendary actor Jānis Paukštello is celebrating the anniversary of 50 years of work on the stage, therefore, wanting to surprise his fans, he performed the song “Uz vienas stīgas” by Māras Slokas in a duet with singer Ineta Rudzīti.
“It’s so wonderful that I had the opportunity to sing with Ineta!” says the actor and reminds that the song will be heard at his anniversary concerts “Es dodu roku” on March 15 at the Culture Center “Pearl of Ulbroka” and on April 8 at the VEF Culture Palace.
“Thanks to fate, which brought us together with Jānis Paukštello, because when we met a few years ago on stage in another concert tour, we immediately understood that we were on the same wavelength or, as the song says, on the same string. Well, it resulted in a song sung together, for which I feel indescribably honored and happy,” admits Ineta Rudzīte.
The author of the song’s music – Māris Sloka, the soloist of the band “Klaidonis” – says: “The song, which was lying idle for several years on my computer, has finally been recorded in what I think is a successful composition, which I feel very pleased about. Thanks to both Jānis and Ineta for including the song in their repertoire, and thanks also to Sandris Sprogis for arranging and recording the song. Let the song have many listeners!”
