Legalizing Lawlessness: President Refuses Oath, Constitutional Judges Sworn In Unfairly

This choice was made in violation of the law, in violation of good manners and morality, especially today, with this unceremonious oath. Today, lawlessness was legalized. This is what the leader of “Vazrazhdane” Kostadin Kostadinov said in the program “Panorama” on BNT on the occasion of the swearing in today of the new constitutional judges from the quota of the National Assembly Borislav Belazelkov and Desislava Atanasova. We remind you that President Rumen Radev refused to attend the oath.

As of today, we do not have a Constitutional Court, we have a desk with two couriers who will probably deliver the orders that will be brought down to them. As of today, we don’t have a legal state, we don’t have a legal order. The rulers have shown us that they can change any law as they please, with the monstrous majority of 168 MPs. Such a majority has not existed since the time of the BKP. These people are clearly intoxicated by their own power and do not hide it. This is no longer democracy, Kostadinov said.

Today the president did not come, but the constitutional judges, as if on command, stayed and legalized the lawlessness. Desislava Atanasova said that she does not mind discussing decisions she made as an MP. This is the same as a judge exonerating himself, the leader of “Vazrazhdane” pointed out.

The president is a supra-party figure and attempts to involve him in party fights demean the role of the presidential institution. It is necessary to have respect for this institution, because it has shown that it deserves it, emphasized Kostadin Kostadinov.

The president will not attend the swearing in of Atanasova and Belazelkov

He also commented on the amendments to the rules for the work of the National Assembly, which provide that the commission for control over the security services and special intelligence means will be chaired on a proportional basis, and not on a rotating basis as before, with which the governing majority took away the leadership of the commission from “Vazrazhdane “.

It was a failed attempt at political lustration. Political lustration aims to take away the possibility of a person to exercise political and public activity. Will someone ban Nikolay Drenchev? (the deputy from “Vazrazhdane”, who was the rotating chairman of the committee before the amendments to the rules – b. ed.) to have access to the same documents that he had before the changes? No. These are clumsy attempts to show strength by some severely complex people.

According to him, there is no danger that “Vazrazhdane” will remain in isolation.

How will this happen when we have repeatedly shown the ability to unite the opposition? The back of “Vazrazhdane” is very wide, everyone is practicing on us – both on the left and on the right. This does not bother us, said Kostadin Kostadinov.
