Mexico City: Thousands of people marched to protest against the legalization of abortion in the country. Thousands of people have launched slogans and placards under the leadership of the anti-abortion movement in Latin America against the Supreme Court order that abortions can be practiced for up to 12 weeks in nine of Mexico’s 32 states.
Protesters said they were marching for women, the right to life and peace, and that trying to legalize abortion was unfair, it was a defense of unborn children. The protesters also stressed that they have no voice, but they have rights.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court ruled in September 2021 that punishing abortion was unconstitutional.
