Düsseldorf – Art star Leon Löwentraut (25) has sued the Düsseldorf celebrity gallery “Geuer & Geuer” for a good half a million euros. The other side, led by gallery owner Dirk Geuer, is taking action against the painter – and demanding even more.
“Geuer & Geuer” and the artist have been linked to each other by several long-term contracts since 2017. According to the Düsseldorf district court, the parties are arguing about payments within the framework of the implementation of the contracts and about the effectiveness and continued existence of individual contracts.

︎ In the civil proceedings, Löwentraut wants more than 530,000 euros, which is said to have been achieved through the sale of his pictures. He also demands the surrender of individual paintings and the determination of the effective termination of the contracts.
The gallery, in turn, is asserting claims for damages against the 25-year-old for non-performance of the contracts in the millions and has filed a counterclaim.

According to Jörg Löwentraut, the father of the art star, the defendant “Geuer & Geuer Art GmbH” “should not be confused with the gallery ‘Team Geuer’ in Grevenbroich, with whom we have been working very trustingly since 2016.” Grevenbroicher gallery owners around the brother, although there has been “no more business relationships and contact with his brother Dirk Geuer” since 2021.
The hearing will take place on August 25th. So far, only one day has been scheduled for the process.
