Legal advice for citizens with little money

Eight legal advice centers help citizens with little money in Rhineland-Palatinate. According to the Ministry of Justice in Mainz, these free facilities, for example in courts and houses of youth law, offer “fast, unbureaucratic and free advice from a lawyer”. Civil, social or criminal law issues, for example, could often be finally settled here without a process. That also relieves the judiciary.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the first legal advice centers in Rhineland-Palatinate opened ten years ago in Bad Kreuznach, Mainz, Ludwigshafen and Pirmasens. Kaiserslautern followed in 2011, Landau in 2014, Alzey in 2018 and Koblenz in early October 2020. The judiciary operates the advice centers in cooperation with the local lawyers’ associations. The offer is aimed at citizens who cannot finance legal advice themselves. Whether you are one of them can be checked directly at the advice center.
