Left Organizations Demand Apology and Resignation from PT Usha MP Over Controversial Remark on Wrestlers’ Protests in New Delhi

In a joint statement, the Left organizations demanded an apology from PT Usha MP, president of the National Olympic Association, who made a controversial remark dismissing the wrestlers who are protesting in New Delhi. CITU, All India Kisan Sabha, Farmer Workers Union, Mahila Association, DYFI and SFI organizations have stated that Usha has no moral right to continue in the position. The organizations strongly condemned Usha’s statement that the protest amounted to indiscipline and tarnished the country’s image. For three months, the sexual assaults faced by the actors from Brijbhushan, who is also a BJP MP, is in the public eye. Usha should clarify the action taken as a woman and as IOA president to solve the problem. Everyone expected sympathy from Usha for the players who had to sit out the strike for the second time. Threats of disciplinary action against players demanding justice have no right to remain in place. In a joint statement, the organizations also demanded PT Usha’s resignation if he is not ready to apologise. Read on deshabhimani.com
