jpnn.com, JAKARTA – A woman named Yulia, 45, tortured her toddler by throwing her into a swimming pool in an apartment in the Duri Kosambi area, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Wednesday.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police, AKP Antonius, in Jakarta, Wednesday, said that Yulia’s abuse of the toddler with the initials J was seven months old, by removing a buoy and plunging him into a swimming pool.
Previously, said Antonius, the police received reports from residents of the apartment.
Antonius said Yulia had a fuss with the apartment security who wanted to save J. Apartment security had asked Yulia not to do this.
“From the witness’ testimony, the child had seizures. His condition turned a little blue. Another witness made a video, but no witness immediately took baby J, just screamed,” he said.
From the testimonies of witnesses, Yulia was suspected of being depressed because the man who was a Nigerian national with whom she had a relationship did not want to take responsibility.
Yulia is known to have been married, but is divorced and has two children from a previous legal husband.
In addition, the condition of the apartment unit is not feasible because it is without electricity and without water.
