A patriot who stood up for others. At least, that’s how America sees him on the right: money was collected for his defense.
For left-wing America, Rittenhouse is a homegrown terrorist who, for racist reasons, took up arms and sought confrontation. According to them, the heroes are the three men who were shot by Rittenhouse. They tried to stop him before he could do any more harm.
Two Americas face each other in the lawsuit against Kyle Rittenhouse, who killed two people and seriously injured a third on August 25, 2020 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The closing arguments in the case were yesterday, the jury is deliberating and can make a verdict at any moment. The feeling that lingered last night: an acquittal for Rittenhouse is certainly not out of the question.
Drivers in Kenosha and beyond are preparing for emotional reactions no matter what the jury decides. The governor of Wisconsin has 500 members of the National Guard standing by. Police in Chicago, 100 miles south of Kenosha, Illinois, have canceled their leave for the next few days.

It all started with seven police bullets in the back of Jacob Blake. That 29-year-old black man from Kenosha was shot by a police officer during an argument in the street without immediate threat. It was August last year when the Black Lives Matter movement demonstrated in American cities after the earlier murder of George Floyd. And the presidential election was approaching: President Trump demanded law and order and an end to the demonstrations.
