Microsoft is already preparing for the release of the Windows 11 update called Sun Valley 2. Users can encounter a lot of new things, in addition to the new functions, the appearance of several factory applications may also change. The most obvious will be the modernized Task Manager, but the user interface of the Media Player and the search engine will also be transformed.
This is how you can find out if your machine is ready for the update!
- Press Windows + R and type the following word: regedit
- If this is not to your liking, you can also open the program called Regedit by pressing the Start menu and typing Settings Editor.
- On the left side of the pop-up window you can practically see a folder structure, here you have to find the appropriate registry value
- Let’s navigate to “ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionAppCompatFlagsTargetVersionUpgradeExperienceIndicators” to route
- If we found this, we should come across two subfolders
- Among these, we need the folder named NI22H2, double-click on it
- On the right side, we need to find the value called RedReason, we have highlighted it separately in the image above
- If NONE is found next to RedReason, then nothing should stand in the way of the update
If you don’t read it, don’t necessarily worry. There is a good chance that we are not on the latest version of Windows 11, so it is worth running Windows Update. The other most common reason is insufficient storage space, so we should definitely check the available space on our machine, be it HDD or SSD.
