In ‘B&B Vol Liefde’ Leendert sees a very nice woman in Thalia. But Thalia isn’t ready to see if it clicks in the bedroom just yet. At the same time, Leendert is afraid that she will scare off future love candidates.
“As a man, even of a certain age, I have desires and expectations”
Leendert and Thalia had a pleasant evening in the sauna and jacuzzi, but after the romantic get-together, Thalia prefers her own bed to Leendert’s. “As a man, even though I am of a certain age, I have desires and expectations. It is nice if all of that is fulfilled, but if it is not, I have the respect not to insist on it,” says Leendert.
Thalia has been asked to go to his bedroom. “If I wanted to take a shower right there in the room and if I wanted to lie with him and sleep. I clearly said, ‘No.’ I would like it, but not now,” says Thalia about last night.
She continues: “He looks at me and he says, ‘You are a very beautiful woman with a beautiful figure.’ And I said, “So what? You’re also a very attractive man. Big, nice. I can easily sleep with you, but these are my limits.” I’m Catholic. My mom and dad gave me good morals and values. You can’t just sleep with a boy. Everything else has to grow.”

“Thalia has clear limits. And she determines those limits. That is just a fact and I just accept it,” says Leendert, somewhat disappointed. “For me there is certainly something, but just not enough to say: I’m going all the way or I’m just not going… I don’t know. I was in it twice, especially yesterday.”
It gnaws at him that Thalia does not live up to his expectations, but scares other women. Leendert sees that she does not really give space to other ladies. “A few days ago at breakfast she was putting some posts towards Jorien. I felt that, Jorien felt that. I think that happened consciously or unconsciously.”
“I have been honest with you so far that I really like you and that I feel more for you than usual. But I also want to be honest with the other ladies,” he tells Thalia. Leendert therefore takes a rigorous decision: they have a break necessary. Thalia was already planning to leave for the Netherlands for a while, but if it’s up to Leendert she doesn’t have to come back soon.

“I’ve been thinking again, Thalia”, he begins with lead in his shoes. “I don’t have a good feeling about how that happened with Jorien and how it will go with the new ladies. I think it would be better if we break to take. Let’s keep in touch. That also gives me more clarity about how I feel about you.” Thalia thinks it’s good to take a break in their short love happiness. “Thanks for all the nice moments,” she says to him.
On camera she says that she thinks it’s a bit of a shame that she has to stay away now. She does not see herself as a threat to other women. And also when it comes to Leendert’s sexual desires, she has always been honest. “I was clear from the start: ‘Leendert, with me everything goes step by step.'”
And so the love between the two lovebirds comes to an end for the time being. “If it’s the right person, you’ll come back together,” concludes Thalia. At the farewell, one last kiss is given and then the fourth love candidate leaves for the Netherlands in her car. “Adios amigo!” Thalia calls out the window.

Leendert crawls back behind his piano, as usual when a woman leaves, to numb the silence. “It is also the feeling that I have lost control, lost control. And that Thalia increasingly took control of it because of my feelings for her.” Now that she’s not around to make his head spin, he’s back in control to collect his thoughts. During a phone conversation with friends, he is asked if he hasn’t blown a possible chance at love. “They’re like: Yes, Leen, maybe you always want to see if the grass is greener at the neighbors. Be content with what’s there at that moment.” Leendert now has all the time to think about that.
