Leena’s Inspiring Journey: Overcoming Cerebral Palsy Through Special Births

n###⁤ A Mother’s Journey: Overcoming Challenges with a caesarean Section Birth

Leena’s‌ journey to motherhood was anything but ordinary. Living ⁢with spasticity, ⁣she ‌knew that giving birth at home was not an option. “I had to go ‍to⁤ the hospital because I am spastic. ⁤I didn’t mind. I ⁤wanted ‌a caesarean section because I wanted to prevent my ⁤son from having oxygen deficiency. That can of course always happen, but⁤ if I gave⁣ birth, I would worry about that,” she shared.

When the ‌time came, Leena experienced constant contractions and rushed to the hospital. “It all went very fast. There was almost there, so the doctors ⁤opted for one speedizersnede. I was prepared, put⁣ to bed in the operating room and brought⁢ under anesthesia as a epidural I did not succeed,” she recalled. ‍

Waking up to the news of her son Sylvan’s birth, Leena was overwhelmed with⁤ joy. “I was⁢ overjoyed and happy, ⁣sat on a pink cloud. I always liked to be a mother‍ and that was just now triumphant.⁣ I had completed the pregnancy, with the support of my friend ‌and family,” she said. ‌‌

The recovery Process

A caesarean section is a major operation, and Leena’s recovery was no exception. “The recovery ‍took longer than I expected. My friend was a lot ⁢at my house. He took care of the baby and ⁢changed the diapers. I live independently with home care⁣ and could ask for ⁤extra help⁣ if necessary. That was a nice idea,” she⁣ explained.

Five years⁤ later, Leena ⁤reflects on the experience with gratitude.‌ “I look back on⁤ it with a good feeling. I think it’s extra special, as I have been adopted⁤ myself. Now I have a child that I can⁤ give all love that⁤ it needs,” she ⁢shared.

Sylvan’s vibrant⁤ Personality ‍

Sylvan, now a lively five-year-old,is a bundle of energy and curiosity. “Sylvan is cheerful and eager to learn. He has a good ⁢memory and ‌his own will. That is nice, but sometimes quite arduous. Things have to go the way he wants it, but of course I am the boss,” Leena laughed.

From football to swimming and skating, Sylvan is always ‍on the move. “He wants to play‍ football, he ⁢swims and skates. He does everything!” Leena proudly exclaimed.Despite her disability, ⁣Leena embraces⁤ motherhood with determination. “I can do everything, but it ⁣sometimes costs ⁤me a little more energy and requires more planning, but that I like to have it,”⁢ she said.
