Leeds United Faces Frightening Situation: Stadium and Offices Shutdown Over Security Threat

Leeds United must immediately close its stadium from the English police. The club has been warned because of a threat, which seems to come from social media.

Leeds itself announced on Friday afternoon that it had to close Elland Road. Both the police and the club have not provided any further clarification about the nature and content of the threat. Officers are now conducting investigations and checks at the stadium.

In addition to the stadium, Leeds’ offices and fan shop are also closed for the investigation. The club apologizes in a statement. “We apologize for the inconvenience. We will inform fans when normal service resumes.”

Lucky in an accident for Leeds: it does not have to play this week because of the international break. When the Premier League resumes in a week, The Whites will play an away game at Arsenal. So there seems to be enough time to get everything in order and safe at Elland Road before football starts again.
