Lee Towers has recovered after his two falls earlier this year. The 77-year-old singer broke a hip and a hand, but now feels “much better”, he says The Telegraph.
Towers fell from his exercise bike in August, breaking his hand. Earlier that year he had broken his hip when he tripped over a carpet. The singer then got a new hip.
“I still walk with a crutch, but I can leave it alone every now and then. I have come a long way to get where I am now,” says the You’ll Never Walk Alone-singer.
Due to the rehabilitation after his hip operation, Towers had to cancel his participation in Beste Zangers Live in Ahoy. “I didn’t want to go on stage with a walker.”
The singer performed for the first time again in March. He then had to be lifted onto the stage with a forklift. “Before I even sang a note, the audience went crazy.”
