Lee Min-woo of the group Shinhwa caused a huge shock last year when he admitted that he had been flashed by an acquaintance and that all his assets were subsequently looted, he started to enthusiastic about his career with the support of fans, including his first appearance on an observational entertainment show.
Lee Min-woo joined KBS 2TV’s ‘Men Who Do Housework 2’ (called ‘Men Who Do Housework 2’ here), which started on the 11th, and welcomed viewers. This was the first viewing entertainment show in 26 years since its inception. He became a regular singer on ‘Salimnam 2’ and his appearance on the entertainment show was not related to marriage preparations.
Lee Min-woo said, “I am (not) ready to get married right now. I have no peace of mind. “Something like that happened,” he said with difficulty. He said, “We’re in a situation where bad people are being sent to prison. I cut off all (human relations). Not many people are needed. When I was having a hard time getting gas with one person, I couldn’t sleep. I took the medicine and cried a lot. I even hurt myself, calling myself a ‘piece of rubbish’. “It was very difficult,” he admitted.
Lee Min-woo’s parents said, “I didn’t know much about that. Even after it happened, he didn’t talk to us for months. There is nothing I can do at that time. “I was very upset,” he said, expressing his sad feelings for his son. Lee Min-woo also feels the same way about caring for his parents. Lee Min-woo said, “I said if I could give my life, I would give it (to my parents). “I could give up my life for my parents,” he admitted, revealing that family is his zero priority.
Before that, in October last year, Lee Min-woo appeared on Channel A’s ‘Best Friends Documentary Table for Four’ and surprised everyone by confessing the story of being robbed of his assets all with a 20 year experience. The scammer, who reached out to Lee Min-woo at a difficult time and approached him on purpose, harassed Lee Min-woo by threatening his family and Shinhwa’s operations.
Minwoo Lee said, “I couldn’t breathe day after day. Swearing was normal. I developed a stutter, and when I saw someone who looked like me, I hated it and got angry. I went to a psychiatric clinic and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. “It wasn’t my life because I was under official control,” he said, regretfully. But he said, “You shouldn’t give up here. With the thought, ‘You’re Lee Min-woo,’ I didn’t give up and saved myself from despair, I persevered and got over it.
It was with the support of his fans that he admitted his difficult time on air. Lee Min-woo told OSEN at the time, “Thank you for the enthusiastic response after the broadcast. I am especially grateful to my fans who encouraged me and helped me change more positively. “We will continue to work hard to deliver more positive energy and show our best side.”
Since then, Lee Min-woo has shown his active activities as an ‘artist’ by participating as an artist in ‘SoHo’s Got Seoul’, a special exhibition of Korean artists held there in New York, USA in February. In the future, I plan to keep challenging myself not only as a singer but also as a writer.
