Lee Jung-jae wins Best Actor in a Drama Film Award

The 74th edition of the emmy Awards reaches the final stretch by announcing the interpretative prizes of the evening. After the awards as best comedian for Jason Sudeikis from Ted Lasso, best dramatic actress for Zendaya from Euphoria and Best Comedy Actress for Veteran Jean Smart from Tricks, The award for Best Actor in a Drama has arrived, one of the surprises of the evening.

Lee Jung-jae won the award for squid game, becoming the first artist to win an Emmy for a non-English performance.

The Korean thanked the award to the director and creator Hwang Dong-Hyuk “for creatively bringing a real problem to life on screen that we all tackle with a great script and a wonderful visual imprint.” He also reached out to everyone who was watching from his country to thank them for their support.

The one for Best Lead Actor in a Drama was another of the more competitive categories of this ceremony, starring in the game of squid beating small screen heavyweights like Jason Bateman (Ozark), Brian Cox (Succession), Bob Odenkirk (Better call Saul), Adam Scott (Separation) and Jeremy Strong (Succession).

A few minutes earlier, the Korean fiction produced by Netflix had received the Emmy for Best Direction and, for a moment, it looked like it could complete the evening with the jackpot for the best drama series. However, it ended up establishing itself Succession.
