In a press conference held on February 2 at Hongdae Busking Street in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Lee Jun-seok made a bold statement about his vision for the country. “We want to be the first penguin for the future of Korea,” he declared. “If the young generation must cross the sea, I will jump in it without hesitation.” This statement has been widely interpreted as a declaration of his intent to run for the presidency, a claim he neither confirmed nor denied when questioned by reporters.
