Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, who has been fasting for more than 10 days, was absent from the morning’s top-level meeting due to worsening health.
This is the first time that Representative Lee has not attended a public work schedule since he began fasting, and concerns about Representative Lee’s health have increased both inside and outside the party.
On this day, about 10 senior lawmakers with four or more terms in the party visited Representative Lee and urged him to stop fasting, but Representative Lee was adamant.

Representative Lee also announced his schedule for re-appearing at the prosecution in connection with the ‘suspicion of Ssangbangwool remittances to North Korea’.
Representative Lee decided to undergo additional investigation after being interrogated by the prosecution for about 8 hours on the 9th.
