Lee Jae-myeong, head of the Democratic Party of Korea, urged the president to focus on handling next year’s budget bill, saying, “What the president should be paying attention to right now is not meddling in the primary ruling party or eliminate political opponents, but people’s livelihoods.”
Representative Lee said at the Democratic Party Supreme Council meeting on the 19th, “The Democratic Party has taken sweeping decisions for the people’s livelihood budget, but the government and the ruling party are only embracing tax cuts for the ultra rich as a new stock complex just looking at the president’s office.”
He continued: “The fact that the ruling power responsible for state affairs is concerned about the political strikes of the ultra rich is tantamount to confessing that the privileges of the privileged few, who number less than 0.01%, are more important than the life of the absolute majority of the people”.
He also said, “We must now put an end to the drift of the budget bill leading people’s livelihoods to catastrophe.” Now we have to negotiate responsibly.”
Furthermore, he demanded that “the president also stop obsessing over the privileged budget and accept the public livelihood budget to resolve the entrenched political situation.”
