Lee Jae-myeong, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo met by chance during a National Assembly election campaign in Incheon and had a brief conversation in a friendly atmosphere.
According to the political circles on the 13th, while supporting the election activities of Democratic Party candidate Lee Yong-woo on a street in the Seo-gu area of Incheon the day before (the 12th), Representative Lee encountered Rep. Ahn and People Power Party candidate Park Jong-jin.
Candidate Park first recognized Representative Lee, who was ahead of him, and greeted him.
He mentioned CEO Lee’s appearance on a program he hosted in the past and said, “It’s been a long time since I saw you. I’m sticking with this candidate. “Don’t you want to support me?” he said. Representative Lee laughed out loud at Candidate Park’s joke, and the two hugged each other and exchanged greetings.
Soon, Candidate Park introduced himself by saying, “Congressman Ahn came to support me today.” Representative Lee and Rep. Ahn shook each other’s hands, and when Representative Lee spoke to them, they both laughed out loud.

The four people had a short conversation on the street. Representative Lee and Candidate Park were holding each other’s hands.
Representative Lee gave a well-wishes to Candidate Park, saying, “I wish you good luck,” and Candidate Park said to Candidate Lee, “Let’s not slander each other, let’s not spread false information, and let’s not sue or file accusations.” Representative Ahn, who watched this, said, “It will be a rare and good election.”
In response, candidate Lee said, “He is a symbolic figure of what (I) said. “Don’t worry,” he pledged, “We will compete in good faith.” Rep. Ahn also supported candidate Lee, saying, “I hope for good luck.”
Even after exchanging well-wishes, Representative Lee and Candidate Park were amazed and said, “We met by chance like this.” Representative Lee and Rep. Ahn parted ways after a brief meeting that lasted about a minute.
Representative Lee and Rep. Ahn will run for their current constituencies, Gyeyang-eul in Incheon and Bundang-gap in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, respectively, in the April 10 general election. In the meantime, Rep. Ahn had hoped to meet with Representative Lee, but the meeting failed.
Rep. Ahn said in a radio broadcast last month, “Representative Lee’s political hometown is here (Seongnam). He ran for National Assembly here and still owns a house in Bundang. He was mayor of Seongnam for eight years and even served as governor of Gyeonggi. He pointed out, “Leaving that place and going to a place with no connections really can only be seen as avoiding a crisis,” and added, “Currently, (Representative Lee’s) trial is in progress, so we will leave the legal judgment to the court and right here where Daejang-dong and Baekhyeon-dong are. “I think we should be judged by the residents,” he said.
