Actress Lee Ha-nui confessed that she prepared for an abortion after being diagnosed with a possible fetal disorder during pregnancy.
Lee Ha-nui appeared on CBS’ ‘Let’s Be New’ on the 8th and recalled the twists and turns she experienced after pregnancy.
Lee Ha-nui said that she was pregnant before marriage during the filming of the drama ‘Wonder Woman’ in 2021. “My then-boyfriend husband had to go on a business trip to Hong Kong for three months. I got pregnant in September,” she said.
Then, “‘Wonder Woman’ has a lot of action scenes and a lot of kicking wire action, but I couldn’t say that the lead actor couldn’t do the script that came out. I prayed, ‘God protect my child.’ Fortunately, the child endured well “he confessed.
But one more problem arose. As a result of a gene tracking test at a university hospital in the 18th week of pregnancy, it was found that the fetus is highly likely to be a disabled child.
Lee Ha-nui said, “Because I am old, I did more genetic testing than I had to do, but it came out that the possibility of (disorder) was high. The teacher said that there was a high possibility that I would be benign and said to another teacher, ‘Please do an amniocentesis and prepare for an abortion,’ but I completely collapsed.” he complained.
Although she had never seen her child, she recalled that her maternal love had moved her. “I went to the awards ceremony to receive an award for ‘Wonder Woman’ after the amniocentesis, but I couldn’t remember a single word of my acceptance speech,” she recalled.
Fortunately, it is said that the child was confirmed not to be a handicapped child in further examination. However, Lee Ha-nui said, “I wasn’t too happy. I thought of mothers and children who might test positive elsewhere, and I learned a little bit about the feelings of parents with sick children.”
“Now, whenever I intervene excessively with my child, my husband stops me and reminds me, ‘Remember December of that year. He was a child who could have had a disability, but he just takes care of the child we gave him and raises him,” he said.
