Public Officials’ Property Disclosure

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Seung-eun Seol = The Government Officials Ethics Committee published the property registrations of 59 former and current senior public officials who were appointed or retired in November last year in the official gazette.
Among the public officials disclosed this time, the first fortune is Lee Eui-kyung, former head of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
He reported a total of 810 billion won, including an apartment in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (1.75 billion won), an apartment in Bundang, Gyeonggi-do owned by his spouse (1.63 billion won), and a shopping district in Mia-dong, Gangbuk-gu (1.94 billion won).
Compared to the previous report (December last year), Apgujeong-dong apartments increased by 330 million won, Bundang apartments and Mia-dong shopping streets increased by 170 million won and 150 million won, respectively.
Former Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Park Seon-ho also registered 3.51 billion won, an increase of 150 million won from the previous year.
Seocho-gu apartments in their name (910 million won) rose 170 million won, and their spouse-owned factory in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu (2.68 billion won), rose 110 million won from last year.
Public Procurement Service Commissioner Kim Jeong-woo reported a total of 3,262 million won, and his fortune increased by 400 million won from May last year, when he finished his term as a member of the 20th National Assembly.
He sold an apartment in Banpo-dong (1.35 billion won) in Seocho-gu, which was the joint name of the couple, and bought another apartment (2.6 billion won) in Seocho-dong under the name of his spouse.
Former Blue House job chief Hwang Deok-soon registered 1.8 billion won, including an apartment in Seowon-gu, Cheongju, Chungbuk (230 million won) and a jeonse area in Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju (260 million won).
Former Hwang was found to have sold detached houses in Seowon-gu (90 million won) and apartments in Heungdeok-gu (390 million won). This seems to be in accordance with the one-house recommendation.
In addition, former presidential secretary Lee Myung-bak, Jang Da-sa-ro, was dismissed in accordance with the decision of the former presidential sentence, and registered assets worth 850 million won, including an apartment in Garak-dong, Songpa-gu (730 million won).
